Brad believes in living an intentional life. He uses health and fitness, a positive mindset, and financial efficiencies to create a simpler and easier life.
After spending 15 years making intentional choices, diligent saving, and creating passive income, at the age of 35, Brad reached financial independence. No longer reliant upon a paycheck to meet his family’s needs, he was able to leave his position as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and spend his time with his family.
Brad is driven to expose others to the concept of financial independence. He shows how thinking about things just a little bit differently and implementing simple changes can dramatically transform lives.
During his time working as a CPA, Brad launched RichmondSavers.com, a website aimed to provide those in the Richmond, Virginia area with strategies for becoming more financially secure. His website gained significant traction in 2014 when a New York Times article cited his step-by-step guide on how to use rewards points take a trip to Disney World for free. The mention forever altered the trajectory of Brad’s life.
The newfound attention earned Brad expertise in the area of credit cards and credit card reward points and he began focusing on helping others with the intricacies of travel rewards through a second successful online endeavor, TravelMiles101.com.
After being featured on a podcast discussing travel rewards, a listener from the Richmond area reached out and invited Brad to meet for lunch. Immediately hitting it off, it was during a second lunch meeting when Jonathan Mendonsa asked Brad to partner with him on a concept for a financial independence podcast branded as ChooseFI.
Through the ChooseFI podcast, website, and Facebook groups, Brad and Jonathan are crowdsourcing strategies from the financial independence community so others can learn how to earn more, spend less, and enjoy the journey.
Since its inception in late 2016, the ChooseFI podcast has had more than 11 million downloads, with listeners in 169 countries, and is one of the highest-rated and largest personal finance podcasts available on iTunes.
ChooseFI has allowed Brad to live his true passion and bring financial independence awareness and strategies to its more than 200K followers.
